Biography
- Long started on the independent circuit as a referee.
- In 1988 and '89, Long managed the Sky Scrappers, which at times included Sid Vicious, Dan Spivey, and "Mean" Mark Callous.
- With Long in their corner, Doom (Butch Reed and Ron Simmons) defeated the Steiner brothers in Washington, D.C. on May 19, 1990 for the NWA/WCW World Tag Team title.
- At Wrestle War '91, Long and Reed turned against Simmons.
- At Halloween Havoc 1991, Long was in Johnny B. Badd's (Marc Mero) corner as he defeated Jimmy Garvin.
- Following a stint as a television announcer, Long returned to managing, and focused his attention on 2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Alexander Bagwell.
- Long was in Ice Train's corner at the 1996 Fall Brawl when he defeated Scott Norton in Winston-Salem, NC.
- In March 1997, Long arrived in the WWF, and worked as a referee.
- After being taken off the road as a WWE referee, Long returned on the January 20, 2003 edition of "Raw" to manage D-Lo Brown.
- When WWE decided not to renew Brown's contract, Long turned his attention to Rodney Mack.
- On the April 14, 2003 episode of "Raw," Long escorted Jazz to the ring.
- Long was in Jazz's corner at Backlash '03 when she defeated Trish Stratus for WWE's Women's title.
- Long was "drafted" by Paul Heyman to join the "Smackdown" roster on the March 22, 2004 edition of "Raw."
- On the July 29, 2004 edition of "Smackdown," Long was introduced by Vince McMahon as the show's new general manager.
